Tourism Research Innovation Project
Canada's rural regions are in a time of transition. Many have started to incorporate service based industries such as tourism into social and economic development goals. Communities have struggled in this transition for a number of reasons including a lack of information and resources. While much information exists in businesses, communities, academic institutions, and government agencies much of it remains inaccessible to those who need it.
The Tourism Research and Innovation Project (TRIP) is the first of its kind to address the need for enhanced knowledge exchange in tourism development within rural areas in the province of British Columbia, and is intended to act as a model for similar in rural communities throughout Canada.
